This Policy explains how Delegate Network, Inc. (“Delegate,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use delegate.africa and the Delegate application (the “Service”). Delegate is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, USA. For privacy questions, contact hello@delegate.africa.

0. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. California residents have the additional rights described in the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — Delegate does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any right, email hello@delegate.africa from the address on your account; we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email, phone/WhatsApp, city, role (sender, traveler, hub).
• Identity verification: when verification is required (e.g., travelers and hub operators), a government ID and a selfie/liveness check are processed by our third-party verification provider. We receive a verification result and status; we do not seek to retain full ID images beyond what is necessary.
• Transaction and item data: item descriptions, declared values, product links, origin/destination, suggested rewards, recipient name and contact you provide.
• Proof and custody media: photos/video of items, packaging, seals, and handoffs; bag/seal identifiers; scan events.
• Approximate location at the time of a scan or handoff, where you permit it.
• Affiliate and usage data: clicks on store links, pages viewed, device and log data.
• Communications: messages you send us or through the Service.

2. How we use information

To operate the marketplace and match requests; to verify identity and reduce fraud; to document chain of custody and resolve disputes; to process payment status and payouts; to provide support; to improve the Service; and to comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

With service providers acting on our behalf — identity verification, payment processing, hosting, messaging, and affiliate networks (which may receive click data to attribute commissions). With travelers, hubs, and recipients strictly on a need-to-know basis to complete a delivery (for example, a hub sees only a recipient’s initials; travelers do not see recipient contact details). With licensed logistics or customs partners where required to complete the destination leg lawfully. When required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information.

4. Cookies and affiliate tracking

We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies, including affiliate tracking parameters, to operate the Service and attribute referral commissions. You can control cookies through your browser.

5. International transfers

Delegate operates across the United States, Canada, and Ethiopia. Information may be processed in any of these locations. We take steps to protect it consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

6. Retention

Custody evidence (proof photos, scan logs, declarations) is retained for at least 180 days to support disputes and compliance. Account data is retained while your account is active and as required by law, then deleted or anonymized.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your information, subject to legal and operational limits, by contacting hello@delegate.africa.

9. Children

The Service is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this Policy and will post the new date above.
